So it's been six weeks since I had my keyhole gallbladder removal and this had been going great until yesterday. I had my surgery February 4th and was in and out the same day... though my surgeon didn't stick around to tell me the whatfor afterwards and I've yet to have my post op because he's only in once a week.... Everything's been great... I'm back at work, resumed my usual duties , eating most normally though not as much , no nausea, vomitting or diarrea , and the gas was completely gone. Until yesterday that is ... Yesterday the pain started again exactly where it was before the surgery , I'm a little gassy again, and I have the occasional chest pain.... I was just wondering if anyone had experienced something similar after theirs or what they did for it ....it this normal?
Hi Abby! Yes I had my gallbladder out a year ago Last May and for months still had same pain and even now I still do get pains. Tell your doctor they'll do a blood test to check your liver function. My pain depends on what I eat or drink. I can't drink coffee any more and foods high in fat make it hurt. Pay attention to what you eat or drink and you'll notice what triggers it. Tomato sauces like in spaghetti or pizza triggers mine too. The only thing my doctor was concerned about is occasionally a gallstone can get stuck in the bile duct and it may need to be removed. Usually in surgery they put iodine inside us to make sure we don't during surgery but I'm allergic to it and I wouldn't let them. Good luck! Valerie
How are you doing now? Did it resolve it's self? Hope you are well!
