Is it standard procedure to have x Ray at 6 wk post op appt with consultant
I had an xray at my post op also at my check up after a year. They need to check it is healing properly and that they is no problems with the new joints put in.
Yes. I had that after my THR, and am expecting one at my first post-revision discharge check-up next week.
I had my 6 weeks check up with the surgeon that did the operation yesterday. And they took a couple x-rays to see how things looked, and everything looked good.
Yes I had x ray for my first pos-op appointment with doctor and he said everything looking good.
Hi Joan,
I did not have an x-ray at my six week check up. One of the surgeons team saw me. Asked how it was, then said walk up and down the (small) office, asked me to balance on operated leg (I wobbled), looked at the scar that was it. Next appointment a year after op.
It seems to vary. I had an X-ray at my 6 week and 6 month appointments, but at neither appointment did I see my surgeon, except for in the distance, just saw one of his minions! My sister, who’s also in the UK, saw her surgeon at 6 weeks and was discharged, but she wasn’t given an X-ray.
I had an X-ray before seeing the consultant post op. I think it is a useful check for the surgeon.
I had xrays at my 6 week follow up appointment and was discharged. No further appointments required unless I have any problems. All seems tickety boo so far. It’s my one year anniversary on Friday.
Regards
Ann
Same here
Not for me I had an X-ray the day after surgery and none since
I guess it depends on the Doc, but I am due for my 6 week check up next week, and they told me they will then take an x ray to see how things are coming along, so for some it's standard procedure and for others not.
It seems to very. My surgeon said it wasn't standard but let me have an x-ray as I was a bit worried about a clunking noise. All was fine. It was just muscles sorting themselves out around the new joint and, at 9 weeks post op, it's gone. I hope all is well with you.
