So I'm now 7 days post op. The bowels have finally settled but my pee is still causing problems. Spoke to nurse yesterday as it's really painful to go. I have the urges and when I go I'm sitting for long enough for it to come. When it does its so painful. I've been advised that this is perfectly normal but it's so irritating. I've also got a very sore lady area inside today, and pain where my left ovary was. Please tell me that this gets better soon
It will get better. We have to take it really slow and one day at a time. I'm having to self catheterise since I've been discharged two Sundays ago and I need to follow up ato the hospital every week. The first week was rough and I was also on antibiotics for the infection. So far, I've come to appreciate that I may be in for the long haul...Please take each day as it comes..wishing you a smooth recovery. All the best, Correen xx
So sorry you are suffering. Drink more, it really helps soothe the tubes. You need to drink at least 2 litres or more a day until you get to about 6 weeks, helps stop infection as well. I have just arrived at my 6th week and am slowly cutting down the water, I was drinking 3 - 4 litres a day, mainly because I am very prone to infection and luckily I have avoided any.
I was uncomfortable in the lady area as you call it for a couple of weeks it's where the caferter tube was rubbing the nurse at my surgery told me also when I went for a wee I had to push to make sure my bladder was empty completely but that again only lasted for two or three weeks it does get better I'm ten weeks post op tomorrow and I feel great
