Good morning, I just wanted to share that I feel as though I have turned a corner this week. The swelling feels as though it has gone down considerably, I feel better in myself and feel as though I am getting back to being me.
My brain feels ready to get back to work and without this site I would have made the mistake of going back too soon. I am going to build myself up physically now and then make the decision as to when to return to work.
Thanks for all the support, this site has got me through the dark days and I can now see llight at the end of the tunnel

Thank you for your positive post. I just had my TVH and anterior repair yesterday and I'm feeling quite low and weepy. Just cried for no reason when the physio came to talk to me. I know it's early days yet but dragging achy feeling is bad. Nice to read a positive post
It definately does get easier Claire. awww good luck with your recovery xxx
It's good to hear this :-) I'm happy for you as I'm on week 2 and seams like I will be like this forever and not knowing much information about it all, this site really helps x
So good to hear you are doing so well and progressing smm, and you are quite right that the next step now is to build up physically before even thinking of going back to work.
Well done and good luck, but take it slowly and still listen to your body. Long term health is so important!

I'm about the same post op as you X had my check up yesterday and said I felt a fraud still being off work. The nurse said you only get one chance at recovery and don't mess it up. I work with young children and she's right as she said instinct would kick in and I'd be picking them up if they fell etc. Made me feel better , so not due back now til the beginning of June 🙂
That's great news Rosie plenty of time to build your strength up, nurse is right about picking children up, I made that mistake 1st timd i had repair done at 12 weeks post op my eldest was off on maternity leave, had new baby at 6 months and boy at year and a half, it is instinctive to lift them quickly away from any danger they may be about to put themselves in, and very painful too. You will need to build up strength some of the kids today are solid weights.
Look after you self and make the most of this time you have!

What a fab advice Rosiepix what a great nurse. I think we need that reassurance, I do definitely to slow down and get better. I'm just so used to doing everything for everyone so it's quite difficult i find. I don't have a post operation check up so will continue to contact GP to renew sick note until my body is ready to return. Caddis
Sorry typing on my kindle ..... Caddis ? .... to work..... xxxxx
