7th week on Velantafaxine for DPR

I've had depersonalitation. I started taking Velantafaxine 75mg daily and i am on my 7th week and i had good days and calm momments but everyday when i wake up the DPR is there not as strong as before but its there sometimes it goes away in the afternoon. I been feeling shaky lately, and sone headaches  idk if is a symptom of the Velantafaxine! Yesterday I woke up with very little DPR i was feeling myself again and smiling and felt happy!!! But today I woke up with DPR and everything seems to be weird!!! Idk when this nightmare will be over! Can you give me some advice of what to do please

Hi Hills, I also take venafaxine every morning and have done for a few years. Umm, I think some days will be better than others as it takes time to get into your system. What you could ask yourself is, is there any improvement overall. I know it's hard but just give it time and don't expect too much too soon. Unfortunately, there is no overnight miracle cure. It just takes time. I am curious to learn more about depersonilation, would you be able to describe it to me? I'm here if you need me, Donna x

Sorry Hilda, your name came out wrong at the beginning of my post x

Hello donna23316 its ok. I started with depression I would always feel sad for no reason and cry i wouldnt even want to talk and i lost interest on all things i enjoyed doing even getting on my social media.  My mom took me to my primary dr and gave me citolapram 10 mg i took it for two weeks in feb i was getting worse i got to a point were i couldnt recognize my parents for some horrible minutes i would cry my eyes out. My mom decided to change my dr and the dr told us i had depression and anxiaty my feelings were feeling like spaced out like if i was in a dream state 24/7 and i would even forget things. I would look my self in the mirror and i could not recognize myself i was scared to death. Then 4 weeks past and the dreaming and spacey feelings dissapeared only the dpr stayed not as strong as before but it actually does not dissapears i feel like i am not here on earth i feel like if i am watching myself do things like if i am watching a video of me. Yeaterday the dpr was there but very little yesterday i had a great day i was actually smilling and making jokes.

I know i am getting better but i read all these forums and almost everybody recovers at 6 weeks and that scares me just to think this might stayed

Hi Hilda, hope your feeling a bit better today. I really sympathise with you. I don't think I have ever suffered the surreal symptoms to describe. I understand it must feel really scary. Try to stay positive and if do get the symptoms you describe, try and distract yourself. Tell yourself "it will pass. Don't compare yourself to others regarding how long tablets take to work. 6 weeks is just a rough guideline, it's not written in stone. It depends on the individual. Keep me posted, take care, Donna xxx
