Hi ladies,
I'm 8 weeks post laparoscopic colpopexy and vaginal rectocele repair. I was given the go ahead from my surgeon. We were very careful but it was way too painful. We had to give up. When I went to the bathroom after there was blood. I'm lightly spotting, it's been 3 hours.
Anyone else had this? How long before it's okay?

You're probably not quite healed yet. When you try again use some lubrication available at pharmacy's. you will have to be very careful for some time yet, play it by ear. If bleeding is bad, see your doc.
My husband and I first tried at week 8 post op but it was very uncomfortable for both as he could feel the stitches, as the stitches take aprox 12 weeks to dissolve we decided to wait until week 12 and was successful although you will definitely need lubricant, I spotted for a couple of days after our 1st attempt but if it gets heavy like a period definitely see your GP good luck 😊
It's normal the first time. The next time use lots of lub. It will be a bit uncomfortable the first times but in some weeks you come back to normal. The spotting is normal too. Hugs!
Thanks everyone! I was quite worried, but I feel much better now. 🙂 We did use a lot of lubricant and will continue to. I think we'll wait a few more weeks, this healing process is much longer than I anticipated.

Can never understand why they give such short healing times as it always seems to take much longer than they actually anticipate!
