8 weeks post op

Hi everyone, I'm back to ask a question.    I went for a SLOW walk today, it was about a mile, when I got back & sat down all the inside of my hip went really cold!  The next feeling was like a ripping/tightness which scared the hell out of me!  After having gone through the dislocation I'm really anxious of it happening again! Is this a normal feeling??  I've been in bed since 8pm,,it's now 01.06am!! WTH!

Hi Juiie

I am sorry that this has happened to you,.  It doesn't sound good. I would contact your consultants secretary first thing in the morning and get it looked at. If it doesn't feel right you need to get it checked out.

I am still up. Not able to sleep because of my pain.1:16 am

I've never felt anything like that and I'm 2 years post op. Please contact ypur surgeon asap to be safe. Never ignore unusual pains it's always best to get checked out as ypu want to be better not worse. I am also wide awake as usual. Had TKR 3 months ago but still can't sleep because of nerve pain. Don't forget up let us all know what the doctor says ....bedt wishes hunni

Hi Hailea, sorry your in pain, I've not got any pain, I got up a minute ago after lying on my back for 5hrs, no pain but now my scar is so tender & feels sore when I press isn't the thigh.  I maybe a little too anxious!  That dislocation pain will stay in my head forever more!  I hope you get some sleep soon.  Julie. X

Thanks Shirley, so sorry your in pain too!!  My eyes are red raw with hardly sleeping.  I'll see how I feel in the morning, if it feels the same as it does now I'll phone the secretary.  Hope your able to get some sleep tonight too. Take care. Julie X

Dear Julie ... I hope you slept a couple of hours .. so sorry to hear this - Are you in pain too? It sounds that you anticipating another dislocation, which is not unusual .. I was told that my muscles, my posture were so stressed and hardly ever relaxed - I am anticipating pain, you see ... still walking as if it might hurt or something - Maybe a mile was too long? I don't know anymore - I thought walking was one of the best exercises, however when pain becomes bad, I am told to take shorter but more frequent walks - I am 11 weeks post-op and feel as if I am not improving the way I expected - my lower back hurts in a way that I can barely sit straight, let alone walk up right ..., upper thigh, and right underneath the scar ....  I hope you are feeling better this morning - if not, by all means, call your doctor ... just to ease your mind might help a lot --- take care and be gentle with yourself today ....

Hi Julie

Got to sleep about 2:30 was up again at 5 am. Yes I know sleep is almost impossable these days. Any unusual pains / problems need to be lookied into by your consultant. That is what they are there for. You really need to go and put your mind at rest Julie. It may be nothing but it also maybe something as the saying goes a stitxch in time saves nine. Please get it looked at.

Hi julie how's things this morning? I'm used to hardly any sleep. Funny how it's always worse at night. ...and they tell us to rest. We're trying! Haha x

Hi Shirley, eventually got to sleep around 2.30am!  I feel perfectly fine today, I think i may have used muscles that hadn't really moved in 2yrs. I had no pain as such just the cold feeling & ripping.  I would just like to go to sleep at a normal time of night!  Here's to another try tonight!
