Im at day 9 after surgery. My fingers are still swollen and its hard to bend them. Also some of the stitches have started to come out. The area is painfully itchy. Im still using a splint that I was told to wear till my 2 week checkup. Has anyone else had swelling issues?

i was told only to use the splint if my hand ached. I was encouraged to use my fingers and I think this kept the swelling down. But I too felt some days that it would never be right. I am now almost 3months post op., I have a hard lump under the scar which I massage with hand cream when I remember! I have no more pins and needles and sleep all night pain free so hang on in there. Massaging the wound should also help if it is healed.

Jennifer, I was told to ice my hands and if the swelling did not go down to go back and see the doctor, don't wait for 2 weeks if you have swellen try icing 20 mins on 30 mins off afew times a day. God bless
Thanks, just had my follow up apt. Swelling is normal. Sometimes takes a while to go away.
