9 weeks going on10

Top O-The morning Hippy friends. Well 9 weeks of recovery nearly done and into week 10 on Monday. Things are getting better with each week that goes by. Walking distance increased, advanced exercises performed ( except that wobbly board thing which wipes me out and hurts ) still have that nagging stiff sore thigh by the end of the day but that seems to be my new normal at least for now. Going back to work June 8th so I hope I will be ready. Hope everyone in their various recovery stages are doing well, sometimes I feel guilty for feeling good while so many are still struggling so hoping everyone is getting better every day.

Hi Susan,

Good to hear from you - think i'm 10 weeks going on 11 weeks now.

Yes, it all seems better week by week, just done Abs and Ads and Hamstring work in gym, which I couldn't do for a year b4 operation!

I work as acounsellor from home so am seeing clients again, and tomoro walking on Dartmoor. Still can't do straight leg raises tho, on bend easily when gardening. feel I should be able to by noe so a bit cross.

 hey Susan ,

thanks for sharing ... i love to read our victories, big ones and small ones ... still a word of caution : don't over do it .

I had a little victory just now  and made 3 stops before driving home ... phew .. I can feel it though, so couch, here I come !!  take care -

I'm so happy that yhou're feeling so well!

i had my surgery for a R THR on March 9th, which was great!  Until I contracted "Cellutis" in my surgical site.  Which put back in to the hospital for another 4 days.

All that said,I am feeling tremendous, I'm no longer taking any pain medications.  And, it's been Years!!! Many years!.

I have a discrepancy in the lengths of my legs now, My operated leg being longer by 1.5 cm.  It was 2 cm that my PT measured but, by the time I got to see my surgeion he measured it at 1.5.  And I went to see a pediatrist who told me to wait until 6 mths. after before seeing him.

So, it's still all good.  I told my orthopaedic Dr. that the leg discrepancy I can deal with because "I have no pain NONE".

Hoping everything is rosy for you!

hi susan

i think i`m 12 weeks going on 13 and doing rediculously well  - can walk unaided with no limp if i focus (but i carry my red flowery stick round school to ward off rampaging kids) only problems are numbness round scar and total inabillity to walk for several minutes after i have been sitting down for a while - I am almost glad to have these small problems otherwise I would be thinking that something major is going to happen!

best of luck to all and it will get better in its own time

Hi Val, susan, Hippies,

Do the hippie hippie shake!

I still have that numbness to Valerie. Some parts of my thigh see to be waking up and yes, every victory no matter how small is a triumph. I'm really glad I began to journal my recovery just to go back now and see where I was in the early weeks and how far I've come is an eye opener. Sometimes I feel guilty for feeling so good when others are struggling.

Wish we all lived close, would be a beautiful weekend for a get together

It's a nice say here in Devon for a party.....Glad to have met Barbara this week for real.

Sad for those in isolated bits of USA with no one near in this group.
