9 weeks out not happy

Hello everyone thank you all for all the feed back.Well after 8 weeks of PT I have changed My PT office felt I was going no where as far as my progress .So today new PT that works at the hospital where my doctors at tells me he wants me to have my doctor schedule me for surgery because he feels at 9 weeks I'm only at 70% he wants me to come for 6 appointment so he can work with me if I don't at least get to 80 85% in that time he wants me to push my doctor to take me back in to manipulate my knee. This physical therapist is the first one that has gone over my health history and let me know because of my osteoporosis my low Vitamin-D level and a few other things this is the problem why I may not get past 90% even after the second surgery. I feel that I wasted the last 8 weeks at this other physical therapist office and got nowhere I'm a bit frustrated. I'm 57 years old I can be out of work for up to one year so by next June I need to be back to work I sure hope and pray I can get to at least 90% is anyone else having any problems like this I know we're all different.FEELING DOWN

Hello, I don't blame you for changing out your PT, I went to a PT for only one week & on the last day I had seen him just after I did all the exercizes they had me do he had taken my leg trying to force my knee inwards towards my glute which was bad enough then as my legs are laying flat on the table he pushed my down with both hands hard that made me yelp out & then had nothing but problems so never went back & decided to keep using a walker to strengthen my leg, but my issues are my other good leg has become now having problems due to compensating. so recently I was refered over to a pain management doctor which he wants me to go through an EMG which I researched about all that & decided I don't need to have any more pain then I am dealing with now of being poked with needles all over...

I been dealing with on going pain dailey after sitting getting up then twisting, jabbing & so many other weird things going on in my knee I don't know what to think anymore & has been over 4 months now dealing with this... I was told it all ties into buldges in 3 discs that is ccausing my knee pulls, jabbing etc.. so all I can do is pray that it all gets better in time it's not easy as it sound's same for you it has been very tough, frustrating & depressing not being able to do the things I enjoy most well I will keep you in my prayers & some where down the road I am sure we will recover from all this, just have to stay strong & keep the faith..God bless you.

Oh yeah, I hear you about the discouragment.  I switched PT's also and very happy with the new one with all the different equipment they employ such as a constant motion machine that is used at the end before they use ice bag that has pressure applied with air to push it into your knee more.  They do not hurt me there, and they work with me, not dictate what pain levels I have to endure to get better.  I also work on my  own and have started puttiing my knee in warm to hot water just below the incision to help with bending it.  I find it hard to  not over do it and set myself back.  I lost about 15 degrees by weeding part of my garden too long.  All you can do then is rest, ice, and stay off it.  I hope I learned to not overdo it again.  I had no idea what an ordeal the aftermath of this operation was going to be.  I will now pay out of pocket for the sinvisc supplementation shots in my other knee since insurance won't.  I need to get by with it till this TKR one is okay which like you said may take a year or more.  At least now I know who the best PT place is for next time. Do they really have to do another surgery on your knee?  Can't they just try MUA first?

Sorry yes they are going to do mua.more then likely. I will find out on September 20th what doctors says, but it's heading that way.if they can get me to 99%100%I'll be happy .I'm sure I'll never get much better then that.Has anyone had to have a manipulation of the knee. They say more painful:-(Lots of prayers
