I am 9 weeks post op (ant and post repair plus vaginal hysterectomy) Other than the 1st 4 weeks of ups and downs I have had a pretty straight forward recovery, however today I have suddenly started to bleed and have a lot more thick creamy discarge. No pain and feel ok and not done over done it. Has anyone else experienced this in the latter stages of recovery and do you think I need to be worried Matron? when I had my post op check at 7 weeks he did say there we some stitches still there so I'm wondering if they are coming away possibly?? Just as you think you've turned a corner and everything is settling down, something seems to crop up!!!
Thanks xx
Hello jill. A thick and creamy discharge is often thrush but if you don't have other symptoms such as soreness and itchiness it could be another bacterial infection. Does it have a smell? It is probably totally unrelated to your operation.
Congratulations and well done for getting over 3 major operations so well. I should also congratulate your surgeon as well.
Hi Jill, firstly I'd like to say well done on a good recovery.I have my anterior
Repair on Monday? I remember matron saying that it can take a while for stitches
To dissolve in some Laddies. I'm sure matron will advice you but I feel
Its all knitting together and mnasy have a stray stitch somewhere. Do yuou have any advice for me ππππ
PS good luck hun and healing hugs to yuou.πππ
Do you ever rest or relax welshgirl? ππ
I am lol sitting down feet up,talking to yuouπ its called nervous tensionππ
I'll give you some advice. Rest for 2 weeks, do nothing, no lifting and keep in touch with us all. Then slowly mobilise over the next 3-4 weeks. ππ
Yes matron I will.my hubby is off for 2 weeks and he is marvellousπππ
Good to hear things are going so well for you Jill, probably nothing to do with op as matron says.
I am 6 weeks post op tomorrow, coping with carrying up too 1 litre of water and 2x 20min walks. Pottering about in between resting doing light dusting.
Hope to start hovering and maybe some ironing next week. Can't wait till discharge stops and can start swimming. Starting to feel lower pelvic floor drawing in as I am doing pelvic floor exercises.
Lower back gets really sore if I over do things, so still have to be careful. But swelling of anterior repair wound is starting to go down a little allowing me to sit fit around 2/3 hours if on appropriate chair.
Turning point for me was 5 weeks as able to be a bit more mobile however can wait till next step and getting back to more normal everyday activity as I try more household tasks.
Look after yourself and always put your future health 1st.
Haling hugs
Phyl xx
