Hi, I am new to this forum, but I have been reading the various posts
for a few weeks and found them really encouraging especially if I am
having a frustrating day.
I had a THR on 23rd March, I had a slipped upper right epiphysis
when I was 11, this was pinned back into place, but my hip was
damaged and became very painful in the past 2 /3 years. So I now
have a super new hip and the horrible pain has gone, but recovery
is much slower than I thought, I walked for miles on my 2 sticks,
and did all the exercises, no physiotherapy on offer,
after trying to go to 1 stick at about 6 weeks I strained a muscle on
my good side which is still giving me a lot of pain. At my 8 week
check, they tried to get me to walk with no sticks but my new hip side
has lost a lot of muscle strength and I was told my pelvis was out
of line, I got more specific exercises which I have done, but it's still
very slow progress. I seem to have 1 good day when I am fine with
no sticks in the house and can do a short walk with 1 stick, then
the next day I am totally exhausted. Anyone else had a similar
issue,
Thanks
