This looks like a simple boil (folliculitis), not herpes. Absence of herpes outbreaks for 5 years bodes well, but appearance not suggestive of this.
If you’re anxious to treat the boil, you could apply Savlon/Germolene/Dettol antiseptic creams, but it should settle on its own.
