A/F and vertigo/dizziness

Hello

my father, aged 73 was diagnosed at the begining of the year with A./F although this is still to be confirmed, has had ecg's and heart scan, wearing  a monitor next week.

His main concern is that he has regular nosebleeds, every other day, not really heavy but last for about 5 mins, coupled with dizziness

I hanebt found any info linkiing this to A/F, and trying to find out if its a symptom?

His only medication is 2.5mg of bisoprolol & the nosebleeds started prior to him taking this.

My guess is, since Bisoprolol is generally for hypertention (high blood pressure) its related to that condition (not the medication). See the doctor again

blood pressure is normal, apparently?

Never heard of the nosebleeds keep us informed of what happens next

Hi

Im not a medical person but do not think nose bleeds are connected

to having af. The only thing to check is whether your father has been

prescribed warfarin inwhich case this needs to be mentioned to

his consultant. It is unusual to have Af and not be on warfarin.

If your father is not taking warfarin and is having nosebleeds

that often his gp eeds to be informed and might recommend cauterising the blood vessel

in his nose in order to stop the bleeds. Hope all is sorted for your father.

A very good thought Kathy, which had not occurred to me. Definitely needs a trip to the doc.
