A feeling of inescapable dread at night

So, for about two years I have had some sort of panic/anxiety attack occurring in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. I have had about 8 in total and last night I had another one. I woke up and I felt like there was a task I needed to complete but I couldn’t get there fast enough. It’s like I needed to count to one million but never have enough will power or time to do it if that makes any sense. So I got out of bed, paceing around my room for about 5 minutes when suddenly, that number of one million was reduced to seventy, and I felt a new calm after feeling helpless. It was like I survived a tornado or something. I want to know if anyone has had the same experience(s)

 as me. Thanks.

Yes i have, it was about 3 years ago, in the middle of my sleep o woke up panicking, i felt faint weak hot and as if i was about to die or lose control.

A year later i did suffer multiple panic attacks, and after taking an AD the dr prescribed me, i was feeling down and very lethargic not depressed at all.

After one dose i had the worst panic attack of my life, that never went away for a month, i mean 24/7 panick attacks , it led to severe depression and i became suicidal, but then i had to go on AD , i was sooo scared to take it again but i thought nithing can make me feel worse i did take 50mg of sertraline, and it did make me worse for first 3 weeks, but in the end it saved my life, i was on iy for 2 years, gaimed a lot of weight , but ide rather tjat then feel the way i did.

Im off meds now 3 months, after tapering really slow ober a year.

I habe started to feel the anxiety again and slight depression come back, but im trying to fight it, its no where near as bad as when i first had it 3 years ago.

I woild advise you to do as muxh excercise as possible, walki g gym.swomming what ever u like best, i used to walk, and i still do now it really helps get rid of that built up adrenaline, also make.a good routine sleep pattern, not enough sleep makes anxiett worse.

And try relaxation techniques, u can find them on youtube.

All.the best x

You may want to talk to your doctor about that.  Seems like you need something to calm you through th night.   You may want to start with an over the over the counter sleeping aids and ask your pharmacist what he recommends   I take Lorasapamc and it gets me through the night with no interference.  Just a suggestion
