A friend's foot hasn't stopped swelling after being stabbed

On the 22nd my friend accidentally stabbed himself into the back of his foot with a rusty screwdriver, producing a deep wound. A day later he went to the ER, where he received medical care and prescribed antibiotics; it has been two weeks and his foot is still swollen. What should he do? The swelling doesn’t seem to be reducing and it is painful to walk on.

Go back to ER . It looks as though there is a deep infection there. This could so easily turn to sepsis and needs medical attention.
