A greener approach with my periods

Hi, I recently purchased a mooncup as I was fed up of using tampons and after reviewing the mooncup decided to take the plunge and try it out.  WOW I have to say after getting used to inserting it which took about 2 days to get used to this cup gave me freedom. It does not need to be changed as regular as other sanitary protection as it catches your flow and does not soak up thus preventing leeks. I only needed to to empty the cup in the morning, teatime and bedtime. Usually i'm checking my tampon four times more a day so this was great. The following info was taken off the mooncup site

SAFER

Made from soft medical grade silicone, the Mooncup is latex-free and contains no dyes, BPA, toxins or bleaches. It’s also great for women with sensitive skin.

Tampons can cause dryness and leave fibres behind. The Mooncup is designed to respect your natural balance.

CHEAPER

As you purchase a cup only once then you save money by not buying other sanitary protections.  One woman uses up to 22 items of sanitary protection every period. Regardless of your flow, you only need one Mooncup, and it lasts for years and years, making it the most economical sanitary product you can buy. and also

GREENER

On average, one woman will use over 11,000 tampons or pads in their lifetime, which will end up in landfill or in the sea.

Hope this info helps to give youladies more choice when it comes toour monthly periods, let me know how you get on
