A grumble...hospitals...parking..not knee. Just had a parking fine from the hospital the last time we visited for my TKR discharge. Husband paid the ticket, but miss typed and left the first letter off from the reg....letter received this morning wanted £40 for paying within 14 days..or it was £75 .which left 9 days of the remaining time. As it happened my hubby still had the ticket...so appealing. Not sure if it will work but so annoyed...letter dated 24th so where has it been for 5 days!
Sounds a bit jobsworth, doesn't it Hazel.
Hopefully someone in authority will see sense and you won't have to pay.
I always find it a nightmare when I take my Dad to hospital, making sure that I've got sufficient change, but at least at my private hospital there are no parking charges...and you can park freely in the street if full.
Hazel I work for the NHS and its our biggest complaint particularly at my hospital. Its well worth you appealing. Tell them the date your letter arrived because most of the post is 2nd class and submit any evidence. I have a staff parking permit which costs me 15.00 a month and I have to be at work 1.5 hrs before my start time to get a patking space!!!!!! In fact ive to go tom to see HR but im getting a taxi!!!@! I really feel for you!!!!!
totally frustrating for you as if you dont have enough to deal with, good luck with trying to sort it, and best wishes with your recovery
How ridiculous. When are they going to see any sense one wonders?
