So a week after unprotected sex I knew something was off. started with itchy legs. soon after, i started getting new bumps around my genital area, every. single. day. boils on my butt cheeks (eek). ingrown cysts and boils in my genital area. they werent typical herpes sores or ulcers as im very familar with those as i have oral herpes. but genital herpes can present itself any kind of way which leaves me clueless. and not only that, I would get single itchy bumps with holes in the middle on random spots of my body. i get a bump on my wrist, or my leg, or my arm, on my face, etc which made me suspect an hiv rash. (btw as far as i know as of now, i dont have hiv). the symptom that has been bugging me the most tho? my vulvar area. its inflamed! it sort of burns and is red and warm. itchy rarely but still very inflamed. i dont think its prodrome. its been a week. and to describe my discharge, it was thin, watery, and kinda smelly for a few days. so i was like 95% sure i had contracted type 2… up until yesterday anyway.
I was googling my symptoms the other day when i stumbled upon staph infection articles. ALL my symptoms check out for staph. the random bumps on my body, the boils and infected hair follicles. and staph does cause vulvovaginitis (inflammation of the vulva/vagina). pretty much every symptom i have rn.
so im making this post just to document my symptoms see if anyone is experiencing similar. this post could possibly show that what you’re experiencing can be a totally different thing other than herpes or even an std at all and not to freak out and assume the worst cause you never know. but if i do have herpes, it could show how different outbreaks can be, not just whats on google bc mine have been singular bumps that look nothing like what ive seen online. i also havent had painful urination or anything. this is intended to be informative. i will test for all std’s and herpes type 2 soon. it will be atleast 4 weeks post possible exposure and sharing the results. if anyone wants to be updated on the outcome you can follow the post or leave a comment. i dont like it when people come on here to ask if they have herpes and say they’re gonna get tested without updating on the results and just disappearing off the site, leaving anyone who may be experiencing the same symptoms totally in the dark.
anyway, im a little nervous but ill be alright. i’ve prepared myself for the worst so if it does turn out to be herpes i wouldnt be upset. not the end of the world. im choosing to have faith that ill be okay regardless of my results. if anyone wants to message me, feel free. updates coming soon.
