I will be having a LTKR THE END OF June! I’m walking with a cane sometimes and a walker! I just wanted to say I’ve learned a lot by reading all of the discussions! Thank You and I hope you all are doing well and pain free!
Hey good luck with yours, you know I had my left knee replaced in Feb 2017. Best thing ever but my left knee hurts so bad. Nov 30th my right one will be done. Hoping that goes good also.
Oh gosh meant my right knee hurts so bad but will be taken of in Nov.

Faybubbles-Good luck with your right knee! Hope everything goes well! I’ve been fighting with my knee for 7 years so it’s time for the tkr!😃
Hey Chico Marx- I’ve been reading up on the tkrs for awhile! Your knowledge is very helpful! I will be updating! I’m ready to do whatever it takes! 😃😃
Good luck on your surgery and wishing you a successful recovery. You will be going into the procedure with far more knowledge than many of us. I did not know about this site until 2 months after my surgery. I wish I had been more informed of the reality of the recovery process. I think it would have saved me much worry, stress, and doubt. it does get better over time but needless to say some of us will have certain unpleasant situations longer than others.
Best wishes I am 9 mos post op and think I am doing pretty well. Still hope to improve a bit more but have come a long ways. No regrets & I bet you too will be happy!
Best of luck with your TKR at the end of June. Had mine done 10 weeks ago and got signed off by the Physio last Thursday as bend and straighten was in excess of requirements plus no pain, but other knee cracks now. Hope all goes well.
Good Luck I had LTKR exactly 3 yr ago and RTKR 7 weeks ago . It does take time but my first one was just like my own knee within 12 month and second one is following same pattern. Hoping to be back to work after 12 weeks. Stick with your meds exercise elevation rest and ice . It is hard at first but it will get better. This site is great if you are getting despondent. Xx
Best wishes on your surgery!!! Please keep this in mind no one heals the same some take longer then others, you are going to have pain so can tolerate pain better then others once again everyone is different. In order to keep your pain level under control once you get home take pain meds as described do not wait until your in pain to take them. Do your exercises follow Chico guide ( I never wrote them down I have been to therapy so many times its in memory ). You are going to have good days and some days you feel like your going to scream ( well I had some of those I hate pain ) When your home ICE and ELEVATE this will help with swelling and pain. If it was not for pain meds ICING is the next best thing. Patience will go along way once you start going to therapy you will meet different people some recover faster then others some slower it does not matter once again we are all different. Some people are doing fairly well after 6 months some after a year others even longer. There is no point in comparing yourself to anyone but yourself. This is a great spot to be if you have question or concerns. You will do fine once again best wishes.

There will be times when that great attitude will be challenged. DON'T LET THE BAD GUYS WIN!!! Focus your mind...stay strong...your tools are time, work and patience. The pain, the depression...ALL very temporary. Push through all the crap and OWN your recovery. I'm 2+ and the outcome was GREAT! Read some of my other discussions. There are plenty to offer some helpful strategies for mind, body and spirit. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!
Chico- Thank You for the words of encouragement! I can’t wait to get my life back and do some of the things I used to do! It’s been a rough road! Thanks again!
