Hi all,
I'm 23 days post op 2nd THR, the first was last December, anterior approach.
I am not in any pain so do not need any medication, my second hip is recovering faster than my first was at the same period
I have been able to walk outside with just one crutch for over a week and can manage a few minutes indoors with none.
I am able to sleep on my old new hip side for about an hour at a time, nice!
So keep on keeping on lovely people, it does get better xx
So glad all is well with your recovery!! God's blessings for continued healing!! 🤗🤗. LD
Hi, Gwen,
Thanks for posting news of your second hip it gives me some reassurance for when I have to have my other hip done. I was refusing point black a couple of days after my first anterior THR, which was done 7 weeks ago today. But now looking back at the pain I was in and how much I have improved I will have the other hip done when the time comes.
Many thanks Jackie
I am 22 days po. Just started without my cane little at a time. Not pushing it though. I'm trying Aleve today instead of Tylenol. After an outing I get a little sore. I don't want to push.
Hi Jackie,
I know exactly how you feel but it's well worth a week or two's discomfort to get it done with and on the way to recovery.
I'm like you mollyjr, not pushing it. We've got all the time in the world to make sure we come through this successfully, so no heroics!
dear gwen,
Happy News !!!!
did you have anterior approach for the 2nd surgery as well?
thank you for sharing, darling - I know that many members here on the forum needed to read this ..

Thank you - 2nd hip to get done on the 20th and although I am totally committed to it, it is really good to see this positive update from you.
With big hugs for a complete recovery.

Sounds as if you are doing really well, keep up the good work.
Yes Renee, I had anterior for both with a brilliant surgeon.
I will stay in touch and hope that your recovery goes well.
Hugs and best wishes xx
I know Linda, I haven't forgotten and although you are nervous, which of course is normal, once done you will be so happy to start on your recovery. It's a whole new mindset knowing that the operations are over and you are not doing any more damage by walking on a bad leg.
You were there for me, I am counting down the days for you. Best wishes xx
Thank you Brenda. I had a feeling this one would be easier than the first.
