My urologist said I had a little UTI and prescribed me an antibiotic called Azithromycin 250mg for 5 days. I have been having stools all day and just not feeling good my stomach was in pain and I felt like I was going to throw up and my hemrroids were acting up too so I called the on call doctor and he said just to stop the medication that is how sick it made me feel
How else can I get rid of a small UTI so it does not get worse feel like crying
It is the Azithromycin that has made you feel this way. I took it for an upper respiratory infection and it made my stomach that way the first two days I was on it (nausea & diarrhea.) You should ask for a milder antibiotic if you are uncomfortable, but the symptoms should go away after day two on the Azithromycin (just remember to drink plenty of water) Hope you feel better
I hate azithromyocin and specifically request not to have it when i get any bacterial infections. The first and last time I took it, I had the runs for 3 days straight! I said never again. There are other antibiotics that are less harmful to the digestive system. Also it's important to take probiotics while you're on any antibiotic because antibiotics throw the balance of your stomach off. Hope you feel better soon. Take care!
There are new and very quick (3 days treatment only) action drugs for UTIs. From experience I only know Furadantine, which is (an older but) also very effective drug although it must be taken for a week. So these are all prescrition drugs. How come your dr. didn't prescribe anthing else? If you're in pain it's better to go to the ER. They should know the options. Otherwise you can mention Furadantine...
Another possibility: Do you have at home someUltralevure or any probiotics? It's just because by taking them you might be able to continue with the azithromycin.
Alternatives: Lauricidin is a supplement (available over the counter on health stores).
I got that (and more) on Amoxycillin! It made me feel really weird.
Go back to your GP and ask for another AB - there must be one that suits you better. Then as the ladies say you need to replace your gut flora (very underestimated little chaps) they get clobbered by AB's. I'd go for a natural live yoghurt. Ginger will help with the nausea and, as been suggested, cranberry juice is very good.
