Hi Tracey,
I know it’s such a mind consuming worry as I’ve been there myself. I take it you’ve had an ultrasound scan and blood tests done already and then referred on to gynae?
Shaz. Xx
Why so long for the wait and did u get an vaginal ultrasound yet
Yes I’ve had a camera and they found a cyst and a fibroid now waiting to see a gynaecologist to discuss what happens next which my appointment is December

I had post menopausal bleeding and got an ultrasound in February. Eventually a nurse called me to say that the report showed a 7.9 cm ovarian cyst and I should follow up. I made a lot of phone calls and found an ovarian cancer specialist and a new gyne. Saw them both in May after a second ultra sound. Cyst still there. Specialist said it was less than a 10% chance of cancer. He could take just the cyst/ovary or do a hysterectomy. He could also wait three months if I wasnt scared of cancer. If it was the same size or grew it has to come out. I choose wait and see, hate surgery. The gyne told me I shouldnt have waited. This month had an ultrasound, still there. Cant see the specialist until Sept 17. His scheduler said he is full in Sept for surgery.
If you are worried, search out other doctors. I found these two by making a phone call to the famous womens hospital that my insurance wont cover, mentioning that and asking of they knew where to go or who to see. I got lucky, and the person I talked to had people to refer me to. She told me to call my cyst an, "ovarian mass." It sounds scarier, and may get you in faster. Mine is a simple cyst, large, but unlikely cancer. I am just frightened of surgery, and complications caused by it.
Do you know what kind of cyst you have? If you are in a lot of pain get seen as an emergency. Cysts can twist and burst and hurt you. Some are tiny and go away on their own.
