Sorry to announce this but I have now been to the toilet! It's taken 7 days - what a relief!
Great news Fernlady๐
Nothing worse than being so constipated after surgery.
I've used laxatives, stool softeners and kiwifruit after mine - until I could get a result. After that things evened out - nothing like being at home too.
Part of the recovery process I think x
well, HALLELUJA ...... seriously ... you must have felt miserable ...
Best feeling issnt it haha.
This is totally rank but not long after my surgery i actually sat on the toilet for about an hour and a half trying to force it out because i was becoming so distressed and uncomfortable, was literally crying on the toilet. I think i made matters worse because i ended up pouring with blood but atleast i felt better after. I was taking laxitives and even they werent working ๐
So pleased for you. Was that the lactulose that helped you. You know you can take that indefinatly and it won't do you any harm. X
I was in worse pain than the achey leg! X
Hi Sarah, that was me last night on 2 separate occasions. I sat there that long I was shivering! I've been twice now, what a relief! Hope you are having a good day today x
I'm not sure Jennifer as I'm taking Senokot as well but I will carry on with both for a while. I'm not having to literally run up the stairs (not that I could) but it's nice to go! Before my op I was doing slimming world & my tummy was almost flat again. Yesterday I looked like I was going to give birth to twins! X
Awful isnt it. I couldnt stand it up because it was so uncomfortable haha.
Im ok but will be making a complaint to the bus company when i get home haha. How are you getting on? Xx
Mission accomplished! And that must have been a load off!
Well done we all go through this I know I did and as you say what a relief. Also a good tip glass of hot water night and morning. Take care
Yip brilliant aint it l was about 5 days for 1st and about the same or longer for the 2nd its hard enough sitting on the flipping toiliet never mind really need to go as you feel you are going to explode if you don't go. Its a brillant feeling being able to go. Brilliant news hun xxx
I'm good thanks, much better than I expected x
Wow! 3 times now but I'm not complaining! X
Thanks Sandra x
What a subject! Nowhere else could you share this! X
Yea, way to go Fernlady.....I know exactly what you are talking about! Oh those pain relievers can really mess a person up. I am glad that you finally got some relief. Wishing you well.....Barb
Exactly what I said! In fact I quit taking the prescription pain relievers probably 12 days ago because of this problem. I said "the constipation hurts worse than my leg and the pain relievers are not worth it: I have felt so much better since going back on my Ibuprofin....So much discomfort we all go through.....Barb
Thats fabulous news hun ๐ really happy to hear that x
A very important milestone.7days is a long time.Have you heard of magnesium.Magnesium is really good for muscle relaxation and it helps your intestines move. Its the main element in things like milk of magnesia.Very helpful.
