hi all, im 59 and 4 years ago i had a hysterectomy which resulted in a perforated bowel. i developed a fistula that goes from my small bowel to skin, it has ruined my health and almost my life. . its a low output fistula but still requires a stoma bag on it, actually i have to wear 3 stoma bags. the fistula causes chronic infections and i feel pretty rubbish. i can eat and drink which i know many people with w fistula cant so im grateful for that. they have tried to repair the fistula but i nearly died so now no one will operate on me as its too dangerous.
has anyone got this condition ? If so how do you cope?
has anyone suffered serious complications following surgery and if so did you have any support? I have found accessing any kind of mental heallth support impossible, another long story.
