Hello, Just a little help and advice needed. I’ll keep it simple as possible. At the end of December, I started having back pain in my lower middle back (left side) I thought it was just general back pain, but the next day I was cycling on a bike, taking it easy and I was a bit late for something, so I rushed a bit, and went over a bump quite fast and kind of stretched my left arm, and It felt like something went on my left side ribs (lower) and I’ve had pain there since along with the back pain. The same night I had severe pain after laying on my side, got better with pain killers and slept on my back, then went to doctor the next day, as I couldn’t lean down good or move my left arm properly without pain there. Doctor did a few tests with me lying down testing my back mostly and sides, but I didn’t feel any pain honestly, so she just said it was Neurological pain, and gave more pain killers. As I was also getting shooting nerve type of pains.. Next day I wasn’t happy with the diagnosis, but kept going on, but the 2nd day after I noticed a lump, so went back to the doctor again, this time seen a different doctor, she felt both sides of my abdominal, and felt something on the left side, and request a x-ray and ct scan. The x-ray took 3 days, but shown nothing, the CT scan is on 26th February. I’ve been struggling, I can’t lay on my side without pain in the area, so I have to sleep on my back, which I don’t normally do, I can’t fully stretch my left arm, if I move down to the floor its very painful getting back up, and now I’ve started having short breath and pain on the side of my chest nearly my heart area. The other day, It was really bad again (the pain), I was struggling with my breathing and moving around, pain killers was not touching the pain, and the doctors won’t fast track anything so I took a trip to the hospital, they was concerned at first, but after blood tests, and a xray again (I told them I already had an xray and it’s probably soft tissue so isn’t detected) they found nothing and sent me on my way saying I had to manage the pain and further investigate with my doctor. So I ended up contacting a private health care department, the doctor said for this they could do a 30 minute check up and ultrasound scan of the area, which would cost £200, which I can go tomorrow to get a diagnosed and possible treatment (at a cost) with my doctor I get all this free but I don’t know how long this will take after the CT. My question now is, shall I go with the private health care and get myself diagnosed and find out what this is, or struggle for another month not knowing if it’s going to get worse or not? Honestly every night I’m really struggling, I can’t breath properly, I can’t lay on my sides, I struggle to get in and out of bed.
