Abdominal pain

ive had intermittent right side pain below rib cage for years. i’ve had my gallbladder out but the pain persists. My tests consist of hida scan, ultrasound, pylori test, hydra scan, gastric emptying, MRI, colonoscopy. A polyp was removed at last colonoscopy, renal cysts, liver hermanngioma and fatty liver was discovered.; negative pylori. The pain is worse when I strain for bowel movement. I wonder if its a hernia or scar tissue. I had tummy tuck and abdominal lipo ten years ago. The doctors cannot find the source of my pain. I’m new to this group! any help appreciated!

hello, did you have this pain before gallbladder removal?

How many doctors have you seen? Get as many opinions from gastroenterologists as you can.

Some of the pain could be caused by the surgeries you have had particularly the gallbladder which can cause complications. Surgery can also disturb nerves and cause neuralgia which can be managed but not cured. The conditions you have already been diagnosed with could also be the culprit. Have you had an endoscopy to look for gastritis which can cause pain beneath the ribcage. You may also have costochondritis which is inflammation of the ribcage. Perhaps change your doctor to get a different opinion and hopefully a diagnosis.
