Abdominal Swelling 14 days post Gallbladder Surgery

Hi all hope you can help me. 

I had surgery on the 30th December (14 days ago) just had the stitches removed and my abdomen is still very swollen and still have a feeling of being full of gas. Im wlking around and staying as active as i can. Has anyone else found it takes ages for th swelling to go down? any tips on how to ge it to disperse quicker

Hi Sarah, I haven't had my gallbladder out yet but I've just been reading the booklet that the surgeon gave me to read about the procedure and if you still have bloating or distension you should go and see your doctor. I don't know if you're in any pain with it but from everything I've read the swelling should've gone down by now as it said you should improve day by day and to contact your doctor if thats not happening. It may be nothing but its best to get it checked out to be on the safe side.

thanks I went back to the doctor on day 9 when i was getting worse i seem to be getting a tiny bit better.... not as much awful burping but the pressure is still there

Hi Sarah, just remember if it doesn't continue to improve to go back to your doctor as you should be getting better. Let me know how you get on.
