Hi. I walked 5 miles today 7 days after my ablation and now I can't sleep as I'm having a few missed beats and flutters and get anxious. Have a over done it, done any harm? Is this normal? Looking for reassurance. Thanks
I would phone your doctor who did it , there must be someone to ask . 5 miles to me seems excessive but I don’t know . Hope you feel better , anxiety is bad for the heart
How much walking were you doing before the ablation?
I don't really know, but my impression is at least that having some continuing issues after an ablation is not unusual. I hope your doctors did some expectation setting with you. Five miles isn't so much if you're used to it - a long golf course without clubs!
My ablation was a year ago and I still get missed beats, see them all on my ecg below. The cardiologist isnt worried as these, unpleasant as they are, will not kill me, unlike the VT I was ablated for.
What’s VTI?
Thanks for all your replies. I've been to A and E and they said my symptoms are normal after an ablation. Possibly over done things to soon and to take it easy. No harm done though.
Ventricular tachycardia
Pleased you’re ok and only just seen this. Just to say I still get missed beats after 2 nd ablation but they aren’t bothered about it at all just don’t go mad and sure walking was fine but perhaps 5 miles excessive! I actually played a round of golf 10 days after the first one and felt fine but didn’t do it the second time. There is quite a big window of settling down as I’m sure they’ve told you and you may still have symptoms. Take care and hope all goes well for you x
Hi Karen, I had a ablation 2 wks ago and was working out a wk later and have also experienced frightening odd extra beats. I'm not so worried that I over did it but more about that something went wrong. But as I hear of more people's experiences that this is just a healing process. I actually feel better when I do something physical.
