I started a new birth control about three weeks ago, and I am unsure whether my vaginal bleeding is a result of the new prescription or if this is something I should be worried about. I started spotting about 7-8 days ago, and after a couple days it turned into light bleeding. That lasted a day or two, then turned into a medium to heavy flow depending on the time of day. The bleeding has consistently gotten heavier each day, and I am experiencing some intense cramps at times that go very low into my abdomen. When I have a typical period I bleed very heavy the first three days and then it lightens up considerably, so it is worrying me that this time it seems to be the direct opposite by only getting worse. I have not skipped any pills so I am unsure whether this sounds like a normal reaction to a new birth control. Does anyone have any helpful feedback?
