In the UK, The Abortion Act (1967) in England, Scotland and Wales made it legal for women to have an abortion. In 2018 the Republic of Ireland also made abortion legal. Abortion in Northern Ireland has also now been decriminalised and abortion services in Northern Ireland are now in line with the rest of the UK.
