Absolute misery!

My husband is a butcher. He's miserable cause I won't allow much meat in the house. I have been juicing vegetables.

Does anyone have a numb aching tiredness in the torso. From my upper back down to the toes. I'm severly anxious and I am frustrated and scared.

What kind of exercise can I do having this massive tumour?

Hi Melanie, I know that in the early days of finding out about this that I too was anxious and it resulted in all sorts of physical symptoms. I do believe as many do that if you are anxious, worried, fearful, feeling down etc etc that it can manifest in the body. A numb aching tiredness could be linked to low moods or feeling a bit depressed about all this, and I hope that all settles down for you when you know what you are dealing with and if you can get some help/ treatment to manage it. I think we have to sort of come to terms with it as well. How long have you known about the fibroid ? Is it the one large one you have?

It's seven months now. I have one really big one. I feel terrible all the time. I can't explain it.

I'm limited to the type of exercise because of nerve pain and do pines from meds! I do aim to take dog for a walk a couple of times a day and do step ups. Also stretches lying in floor. That's about it really

I walk the dogs Melanie, and it's very hilly here so it's good exercise. I also play tennis which has been challenging when I've had pain and bleeding but I love it. And I do Pilates, though when my womb was at its largest I couldn't lie on my front or bend double.

Melanie, I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. My fibroids are the size of a 6 month pregnancy so I know how it feels. There are a lot of natural remedies out there and one of them might help you or at least make your symptoms better. None worked for me but I might be a special case since surgery and medication (fibristal) didn't work for me either but I still found that I generally felt better when I avoided dairy and sugar. Also try castor oil packs. Good luck.

as you can see from all the replies you have come to the right place.

we all know how you feel.

Have you properly been diagnosed with scans of the fibroids.

As othrs have stated you need to start tackling the issue with medication. I have taken 2 rounds of Esmya and for me when i was on them they strunk the fibroids and they stopped my heavy bleeding and had no bad side effects so may be an option for you to give you a break from the misery.

Have you been given any surgical advice - myomectomy, embolisation that you could have.

Sounds like you are doing the right thing with holistic method. I will send you a link about my fibroid journey.

Thank you

Hallo Melanie,

I had the same fibroids..not just one but 3 big ones.

My life was a misery,always tired,heavy flows.anaemic..endless list.

The Gyna had said that only solution was to get my uterus out..which i really considered.

But at 32 then i got someone who tood me not to and i decided to get a second opinion.

I took zoladex for 3 mnths.then 3 months esmya the fibroids shrunk very little and i had my operation last year July.

And 3 more months esmya.

That was the craziest time of my life..i hit depession mode cos of the treatment and but after a year of all that..i infact forgot everything.i just have bumps on the uterine muscles that can develpo into fibroids in near future..hut my uterus is free from fibroids for now..

Maybe try get treatment ,all i know the treatment is not short but in the end you can get your energy back and no pain.

Hey christine.i think best is just get an operation.

Taking esmya and then stopping will not be if any help.

It took me lots of guts to take the treatment and operation later and now i see the results

Hi, can i ask what operation you had. I also have a few large fibroids with uterus the sze of 5 month pregnancy. Also taken 2 rounds of Esmya and myomectomy. Now have been told only option is hysterectomy.

She said her insurance wouldn't pay for surgery

Yes that's right I would have to pay, but it's not just that, it's also the language barrier ( I speak some Spanish but not enough to be comfortable with medical conversation). And the fear of complications due to the large fibroids and having to have a vertical cut,  with a long time recovering. Oh and also the loss of sexual pleasure if I have a total hysterectomy.

Hey, they did a myectomy, bikini cut

I had 10 fibroids..3 super big,one had protruded like a babys head on my tummy.they removed 9 one shrunk with esmya after operation.

wow, thats great. i know what u mean about the protrudung tummy i have the same thing. i had myomectomy also with 6inch bikini cut but unfortunatly they could not cut them out due to their position

Position matters yes..one could not be operated as it was in the uterus but it shrank on esmya luckily.

Maybe also try home solutions..i followed some diet n drinks n they helped me.

Mollassed apple cider n lemon mix.

Also indian gooseberry poweder(amla)

I avoided animal protein and soya.

I went for the treatment cos i got a man and we got pregnant and thru fibroids i ost the baby..so i decided the cut

But with the home stuff i kind off managed it.they just overgrew cos of pregnancy

Glad they managed to remove so many, nyawira, do make sure you go back and get another scan though as they may regrow again. I was not offered a myomectomy as most of the fibroids are embedded in the uterus wall.
