accupuncture

hi, just wondering if anyone has tried acupuncture for this condition, if so what were the results

I was diagnosed with TG last october and I went for acupuncture It was very beneficial for me HOWEVER the acupuncturist thought the condition was more muscular skeletal rather than TG, when I finally got to a specialist 3 months later they confirmed that she was correct and I did not in fact have TG but Temporomandibular syndrome plus a tooth problem. It is very important to get a correct diagnoses. I believe acupuncture can help TM in some but not all cases (I discussed it with the acupuncturist who had discussed it with colleagues) If you can find a good one it could be well worth a try, apparently you should know within a few sessions if it is workig for you. Best of luck, I feel for you.

thank you for your information rosie, I am going to mention it to gp on my next visit, xxxxxx

HEy Sara...

I had been on tributamol and subsequently gabapentins for almost two yearrs. Gabas helped with the pan, but when the effect wears off..well, theres always a chance id wake up in the middle of the night with a drill to my face.

In 2013 i switched to nat meds, and was suggested to try accpuncture. Worked. Its been a year and after a three month course, the pain is almost completely gone. Sometimes i get a slight tingle (Not pain, just sensations mostly)...whnever there is a trigger. When that happens i go back for 2-3 sessions and im baack on track. However, accupunctre eases the pain, but the cause of pain is a tear in the nerve fibres around the trigeminal nerves. My doctor has put me on Niargim, a herbal pill thats helping the nerve regenerate, gradually. You can even buy Niargi online. So if ur keen, i would say do em both. Unless you have a thing wih needles, lol.. personally I preferred a litttle prick on my face once in a while rather than random stinging pains.

Good luck, hope you feel better soon...
