Aching legs

Hey everyone just looking for some advice really. I am a 27 year old male and have been dealing with aching in my legs for approximately 18 months now. It is mostly my calves and is a constant issue from getting up to going to bed. It doesn't hurt as such and doesn't stop me doing any of my daily tasks. I have been to the doctorsame various times and had bloods and an mri done and have been told everything is fine. Upon my last visit to the doctor it was basically made out that it's all in my head.

I do also sometimes have aching in my forearms especially if I'm on the phone or doing something physically and lately I have been getting quite light headed and shaky.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I forgot to mention that the doctors say they aren't concerned due to how long it's been going on but I'm feeling the opposite! Thank you

Have you had your vitamin D level checked? My aching, weakness and fatigue turned out to be due to a serious vitamin D deficiency. Since being diagnosed ten months ago I have come across many, many people suffering from the same. It is very common, leads to serious health problems and is treatable. I have to say, the pain in your forearms sounds familiar - lots of things cause pain in the legs, but I have pain in my elbows and forearms due to osteomalacia, the bones softening at their ends due to lack of D to regulate how calcium is laid down.

You might also try a magnesium supplement, rub or soak as this is well known to relieve aching legs.

All best wishes.

Thank you. I also find myself to be itchy a lot. Is that common with this?

I have heard anecdotal reports of itch, but it won't be listed as a symptom in your GP's database. The effects of D deficiency can be many and varied and for some people include emotional and mental health issues, or can look more like arthritis or fibromyalgia. I only suggest it because so many people posting on patient.info with undiagnosed problems (myself included) are eventually diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency, so it's probably worth looking into.

Hi

Could be onset of Fibromalgia, (Think that's how you spell it).

Do your legs jump a bit when you are in bed as this could be 'Jumping Legs Symdrone'

Either way I feel for you.

P.S Have you by chance had any problems with your neck or the rest of your spine ?

Let us know and best wishes

Neck and spine seem fine and I do not get the leg thing. None of it I would describe as pain it's all aching

 Hi my friend

I'm a bit at a loss with this one.

Is it possible to see another doctor at your practice ?

Have you been sent to a Consultant yet ?.
