Achy after CT Scan

Hi all,

I hope you all are well. I have been on MTX for a few months now and was making some stride. Last Monday I had a CT Scan and from then I haven't been all that great. I've noticed some achiness in my fingers and it has becoming a little more difficult to get out of bed these days. Am I having a flair and was it bought on by the CT Scan? I also took some prednisone and don't know if this is a reaction. Could it be simply the drastic change in weather? Please let me know if any of this is familiar to anyone. Should I contact my rheumy? I would hate to be put on more meds. Also do you feel lousy the day you take MTX? In the beginning, I felt wonderful but 10 months in, I am feeling tired, nauseated and even more achy. I want to keep my hopes up that tjis will pass soon. I want to be ableto work and this concerns me (

I can't think of any reason for the CT scan to do anything like that - but the weather can be a big factor in pain in rheumatic disease of all sorts. Pred can cause joint pain but mostly it helps it.

Lots of people find they feel bad in the 24-48 hours after taking mtx, many call it mtx flu. Some take their mtx on a Friday night so their bad days happen over the weekend and they can get back to work on Monday (not my idea of a good weekend but if you have to work...). More folic acid may help your adverse effects - some people need more than others. The nausea is a common problem and sometimes is helped by switching to injections. 

Speak to your doctor - it probably isn't an emergency but definitely worth bringing to his attention soon.

If there is sun out; try to sit in it at least a half hour. That usually helps me a lot.
