hi please can anyone help. I have had lansoperazole tablets for two weeks and it wasn't working. so now I am on esomerapazole for 10 days and on day 7 I was ok, but now I am suffering again. I have started a new job and I am in danger of loosing it as sometimes I cannot speak. I have a good diet, I don't smoke or drink. my doctor said that my floxetine tablets could be causing the reflux and tomorrow I am going back to the doctors to ask him to change them. I just cannot go on like this as I will loose my job.
I’m sorry to hear of your difficulties. You very well may need to try a few different types of reflux medications until you are on the right one. One thing I can tell you for certain is that the stress of your job is nit helping. Secondly I would think it is against the labour laws to fire someone because they lose their voice. Please keep us updated .
thanks but I haven’t got a stressful job and it’s only part time.
I really like my job, I will be upset if I have to give it up.
also I have only been in my job for 4 weeks. so they could get rid of me pretty easily. I cannot be a receptionist without a voice and coughimy and choking all the time.
I understand. However it is the responsibility of the employer to accomodate their employees. You will not have the laryngitis symptoms forever.
Hi it could be the floxetine that’s a affecting you it’s antidepressants isn’t it is is it acid reflux your getting or heartburn I’m suffering from heartburn won’t go away just her told it could be stress that’s coursing it
it’s the acid burning my throat that is the problem. The heartburn has been gone for weeks. I feel generally low and swallow air.
I wouldn’t expect an employer to employ someone who couldn’t do the job and I wouldn’t be able to get there anyway with feeling so low from the symptoms the acid causes.
I am going to the doctors today regarding the floxetine. I have been on it long term and I need to eliminate it.
I am also due to have an operation in 3 weeks, I don’t know if I will be able to due to the acid. The operation is nothing to do with my stomach.
