I have been referred for Nissan surgery but the surgeon has at the moment refused this, as he has required more tests. I have had all the tests including
manometry 24 hour ph test, so don't know what is happening. One Gastro consultant is saying I need this op, and the surgeon is saying no. I have been

Have you tried milk for acid reflux? It works great for me. I was offered Nissen surgery for GERD but the hassle of recovery, complications, my intolerance to general anaesthesia and anxiety made me decide against it. I learned to tolerate the hearburn by taking antacids as well. I also have stress related IBS as well so for me it is better not to aggravate my stress levels.
Hi thanks for replying. Do you get the reflux burninginyour mouth? I have tried everything but nothing's working. Ievenget the belching after drinking water. I would have thought my Gastro surgeon would have agreed with the other Gastro consultant that the Nissan op wouldbe the best option. But they want to do more tests.
Sometimes I get a burning in my mouth and throat if the acid comes up as pure liquid. I suspect your specialists want to check other causes for the reflux before taking the drastic option for surgery.
