was told by ent I have acid reflux, can someone tell me please why I det a pain on the right side of my throat and not all over, and chest and back pain feels live a heart attack

I can't understand why you're seeing an ear nose and throat specialist if you have digestive problems. You need to see a gastroenterologist for further investigations.
What kind of doctor is that. I have bad chest pain and food feeling like food is stuck in my throat
Its a doctor that specialises in the digestive system - stomach, gullet and intestines and investigates and treats things such as acid reflux and indigestion.
Agree with Debbie. You need to see a gastro for an endoscope examination. Nothing to worry about as everyone here has probably had at least two. Gerd is reknown for giving refferal pain in all sorts of odd places. You could have a small hernia? Best of luck.
Have you been given any medication for the acid reflux? - if not maybe your gp could prescribe something such as Omeprazole or Ranitidine to help with the symptoms until you can see a gastro specialist. These should help to cut down on the amount of acid your stomach is producing and should therefore help to relieve symptoms.
Yes on omeprazole but not working, getting me down at the min with pain in my chest and just below my rib cage
You would not believe the pain
Believe me I would believe the pain - I have the same problem - What dose of Omeprazole are you on - most people start on 20mg - this may not be enough and your doctor may need to up the dose until your symptoms come under control. I was hospitalised recently with this problem and I was put on 80mg Omeprazole and 300mg of Ranitidine and it was 3 days before the acid reflux started to improve. As rex has stated you will probably need an endoscope of your stomach (camera down to take a look around) and biopsys which will determine whether you have the bug called H Pylori which can wreak havoc in certain people, me included. If you had this you would need antibiotics to kill the bug. The bug can also be diagnosed by a blood test, breath test and stool test but you have to stop the Omeprazole 2 weeks before the tests.
Pain in the throat often indicates silent reflux (LPR) where the acid reaches further up the oesophagus and tips over into the windpipe, often causing sore throats on the way, sometimes affecting the voicebox, and reaching the top of the lungs causing major irritation.
I have this and see both a gastro specialist and an ENT one.
The pain you get from LPR is different to GERD. In fact you often dont get heartburn at all with LPR.
I have LPR and GERD (plus Barretts) but almost never get heartburn but sometimes get a dreadful pain in my chest and back.
This is really great info. I suffered from acid reflux for many years and this is the type of advice that really helped me to overcome my problem. So, to all you sufferers, YES! There is hope! Just don't lose faith and know that your body can heal itself. I was lucky to find some great advice that helped me overcome my acid reflux and get better.
