Hi,
I am 51 and experiencing signs of meno: irregular periods, hot flashes recently as well. In the past two months I have been having pretty bad acid reflux. I did have that before but not it's much worst. Sometimes my entire throat, nose and even eyes burn. I recently had an endoscopy and the doc said everything is okay. He put me on proton pump inhibitor, Omeprazol but I see no improvements even after one month of taking it. Anyways, I was wondering if any of you ladies have acid reflux in association with your other meno symptoms?
Thanks,
Hello Naz86530 I am 47 going through menopause. It happened over night. I also have the same thing you are having. I am assuming its acid reflux but I like you a year ago tried omeprazol and all meds for acid reflux. Still no improvement have been eating well. Staying away from foods that i know harm me. Mainly its my throat feel like a have a lump and it also burns my nose and eyes also. So i have trying allergy meds. I wrote about throat ache a few months ago. Its been bad the last few months. I went to urgent care a few weeks ago because of it. Did blood work and nothing shows. I also had an xray done on my throat. I am waiting for my insurance to approve a CT scan of my throat. But i rather have an endoscopy to make sure there is no harm in my esophagus or throat. I am worried. Oh i forgot i am also on prozac because my primary doctor said it could be anxiety. I also went to see a throat specialist and he said Globus Hystericus. My next step is to get an endoscopy. I havent gotten relief from throat ache and burning
.
Hi Columba,
I also feel a lump in my throat. That's just a sensation because of the acid reflux and there is really nothing in my throat. Funny you mentioned allergies because I also thought I am experiencing sever allergy symptoms. Since omeprazol did not help I took allergy meds for the past week, but no help. One thing I did not do was watching my diet and I think that might have exacerbated my issues. I am going to stay away from anything that is irritant like chocolate and coffee. Since last night, I have started taking 2-3 ounces of aloe vera drink 20 min prior to my meals, and I think that is helping. I am not 100% sure yet, but I am trying to stay positive. Anyways, I hope you feel better soon.
