Hi,
I was diagnosed with acid reflux about 6 months ago, because food was \"sticking\" in the middle of my gullet and I had to wait till it passed down slowly before I could take another bite. This only happened when I ate fast- relatively- and have now learned to chew thoroughly and eat slowly.
Anyone else has had this, I would like to know how they coped.
I was prescribed Lansaprazole by a very eminent specilist in the field, but after 3 weeks I had extreme faygue. I felt terrible. It was a mammoth job to go to work everyday, and I di not even think of putting it to the tablets.
Then I was too tired to even take the tablets, and the recovery was amazing.
Is this common ?
Hi, I am too on Lanzaprazole and have been for about 5 years. I am on the waiting list to have corrective surgery. I too struggle to get on with daily life. I only work 4 hours a day and by the time I have walked the 20mintue walk home, I feel totally worn out. I have complained of the constant tiredness to the doctors/specialist who have given me blood tests which show no reason. I have asked if it could be the tablets but they say no. I think its a combination of the illness which I think is very underated. I am not the person I used to be. I had a break from the tablets for about 18months and I must admist I didnt feel as tired. But after my 2nd endoscopy was told I had to go back on them to decrease the damage being done. But then after my 3rd endoscopy early March the damage had got worse! So what are the tablets actually doing? They may be reducing the acid but there is still considerable acid burn to my oesophagus hence why I have been put forward for the operation.
I have never experience food sticking in the middle of my gullet. Although I do feel a sensation that there is something there. My main symtoms are feeling tired, sickness, pain in chest and burning pain in stomach daily.
Hi, I havent been diagnosed with acid,as such,to be honest I am not sure what I am being treated for.All I can tell you is I have been on every available tablet for the condition, had numerous endoscopies,a barium meal test and a ph test, which showed up that I have a valve in my stomach that is not functioning properly.I am on no medication at the moment as the meds make me worse than the actual condition.I am currently awaiting the results of the barium meal test and hopefully that will give some answers.
Keep your chin up hun

Got my answer today about the barium meal and I feel gutted.I rang the doctors sec up and I was told that my barium meal showed no signs of abnormalities and was completely normal.Ironically, today I got a letter saying to ring up for an endoscopy appointment which is now dated May 1st.I am going out tonight and I feel like drowning my sorrows in Bacardi and taking the anti-depressants I was perscribed earlier this month
