actinic keratoses using Efudix cream

I am hoping for advice from any one who has used efudix for 28 days.
I have (mild-ish) actinic keratoses particularly on my forehead.
I am in my late 70s generally healthy young man.

  1. I have used efudix for 3 x 7 day periods with a 2 day layoff between each period
  2. I am at day 3 of the final 7 day period of use
  3. my skin is irritable and sore.
  4. my local pharmacist told me I could use vaseline 2 hours after applying efudix to reduce the pain & itching.

I welcome all and any advice from people who have found a pain reducing procedure in these circumstances

call your derm report this reaction to the steroid . some are to strong for facial skin ask for a milder application for facial skin.

Only the lowest-potency topical steroids should be used on your face. This is because the skin on your face is thin. And thin skin absorbs more of the steroid than other areas of your body and steroids thins the skin even more.
there are OTC cortisones for face applications, ask your pharmacist.
