Acupuncture

Hi all

Has anyone had acupuncture to help with flushes, aches etc?

Hello.

Yes, I have had acupuncture and homeopathy and traditional Chinese medicine/herbs for menopause/perimenopausal symptoms.

I have had some success with all the three treatments.

It has helped with insomnia, relaxation, anxiety, hot and cold flashes, hair loss.

But acupuncture takes more than one treatment to see real results. It is a cumulative effect.

I did sleep great after my last treatment.

It is definitely worth trying.

I hope this helps.

I did acupuncture to help with frozen menopause shoulder. It helped with my range of motion at the time.

I started having acupuncture a few days before I started on HRT after a truly awful few months of extreme fatigue, muscle and joint pain, anxiety, hot flushes, mood swings etc. I noticed an improvement in the pain after just one session. I then started the HRT as well and that, combined with weekly acupuncture, had the majority of the symptoms under control within a few weeks. I've now dropped to monthly sessions for the acupuncture (as it gets kinda pricey) but I can always tell when I'm due a session as some of the symptoms start to reappear, and there's always a noticeable improvement immediately afterwards. So it works for me and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go. But you do need a course of sessions. Good luck x
