Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem as me. I've had non painful crunchy shoulders for a few years now, but for the last 3 weeks my right shoulder has been extremely painful, moreso during the night, where it wakes me up frequently, and on a morning and i struggle to get dressed etc. I rang my GP but couldn't get an appointment for 2 weeks, so yesterday I rang for a telephone consultation because i couldn't wait any longer and the DR said there was nothing she could do, all she did was double up my Pregabalin meds from 2x75mg to 4x75mg a day, and told me to refer myself to a Physio !!!!!!!...not very happy with this at all!! I already take various meds for 2 torn discs in my back, now i'm crippled with my arm!!..It hurts even to carry something light!!..can anyone who's had this give any advise?, i've not done anything to trigger this onset of pain, it just started overnight, and is now steadily getting worse!
Oh, forgot to mention that the joint frequently gets locked and i have to force my arm back into position, which hurts like billy-oh !!!
Have you asked your GP for a referral to a shoulder consultant?
Hiya, well things got fairly bad last tuesday and i decided to take myself of to Minor Injuries at my local hospital, I was examined by a nurse there (no doctors at the hospital during the day!!!!!!)...she seems to think its a rotator cuff ligament/muscle tear, with the start of frozen shoulder, all she did was fill out a form for the physio and send me up to that department !!!!...got my appointment through for next week at the main hospital in York. Thing is, I don't want the physio to start forcing my arm in various positions as i'm scared it will make it worse !!!.i'm going to insist on an ultrasound scan for it!!!..its a right carry on, i resemble a turtle on its back trying to right itself, when i'm getting out of bed!!!!...jeez i'm only 42 and up until 18 months ago i was swimming everyday, going to the gym, weight lifting and rowing!!!..now i feel like a total cripple !! :'(
