iv been on tiberlone 2.5mg for 15 years, my gp put me on Premarin 0.3mg which I started taking last Friday, but on the Saturday I started with a migraine and it lasted until Tuesday because I didn't take one on tue morn and though out the day my headache subsided. I phoned the surgery to see if I can have the tiberlone back they said I need to go in and see a gp.
she put me on Premarin because it estrogen only and tiberlone isn't
and she wanted to lower my risk of stroke etc.
But do all estrogen only cause headache, and feeling nauseous.
i think I need to take something for my bones because I have the onset of osteoporosis at the bottom of my spine.
And surely I carnt just stop HRT I only have a couple of tiberlone left which I kept back just in case. I'm now worried that they won't give me anything,.
im in the uk. Any advice please
Hi Julie, sorry to hear you have a migraine I'm also a migraine sufferer and I've had one for a few days as well, the last one two weeks ago. My migraines have changed since going into peri, they are more severe, get them more often and have terrible nausea as well
I'm on tibolone as well, have been for 2 years. Gp prescribed them to me after I had tried several other hrts which made my migraines worse and brought on bleeding, he told me if tibolone did not help then I'd just need to go through this with nothing so I just kept on taking them too scared to stop
Before I went on the HRT I was suffering from severe anxiety, low mood lots of symptoms, didn't know what had hit me. I had problems with dizziness and an off balance sensation which has never left, ENT specialist thinks it's vistibular migraine
Can I ask you what age you are and why did you want to come off of the tibolone

im 57 had a total hysterectomy at 42 due to cyst and Endometriosis.
i was put on tiberlone from day one after surgery 15 years ago.
i went for a check up with my lady gp and she said she would put me on a estrogen HRT only because I didn't need the combined one, after 15 years a bit late to tell me that I think. Anyhow she put me on Premarin. Took my first last Friday and sat and all over the weekend i had a migraine felt like the top of my head was going to pop.
i want the tiberlone back, but looks like I may have a fight on my hands.
Arranging to speak to a gp today.
Its wasn't my choice to change it was the gps.
yes migraines are horrible and mine come on with no warning, when you have a job you need a very understanding boss,
so I feel for you xx
