I had a a and p collophraphy on the 20th April this year. I have posted on here before but I am more concerned now. The last few days I have teriible lower back pain and pelvic pain. Looked at my vaginal opening and can see muscle again. Looked a bit closer and I have a lump of muscle there as well hanging a bit down. I have a mild womb prolapse. Could the surgery I had caused my womb to drop or is it just swelling. My cervix on examination is really low about two cm into the opening. Thinking of making a gp appointment but will feel silly if it's just swelling. I am also weeing a lot more than usual but no infection. Getting me down a bit and due to return to work on Saturday.
Your surgery could well have caused your womb to drop, I've known it happen several times. Make a GP appointment because even if it's swelling you need a medical opinion.
Thank you matron will make one first thing. Before surgery my consultant said I may need a hystroceyomy in 5 - 10 years but my be avoided if pelvic floor are done womb dropped but no surgery needed as yet. So may be

How long does the swelling normally take to go down xx had to go to theatre twice as I had excessive bleeding.
It will put your mind at rest because it could be something quite simple. The trouble is most of us think the worst and it just preys on our minds that's why I'm a firm believer in getting a medical opinion before it starts to take over your day to day life.
It can take up to 16 weeks in some cases but usually the swelling has subsided by the 12th week. You've had added trauma though due to the bleeding but your swelling shouldn't get worse only better unless there's another problem or it's not related to your surgery.
Was twelve weeks yesterday since op will make an appointment with gp like you say worth getting checked out is worrying me now xx

Been to gp out of hours as back pain for worse. He examined me got a stage two bladder prolapse worse than the first one am so so upset but glad I have answers.
You knew something was wrong elliott. I'm sorry to hear this but you must get the diagnosis from a Urogynaecologist. Many GP's and Out of Hours doctors don't have the up to date gynae training. Get an appointment with your consultant x
