Advice Needed Please

Hi

I am in a quandary as to whether having my gallbladder out will help me.

I am not having the cramp like pains as so many seem to get, my pain is a burning type of pain..

Could anyone explain their type of pain, and where in the body it was, before they had their gallbladder removed.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

i have an almost constant pain too.Sometimes it is worse than others.I also burp all the time.I am still waiting for a definate diagnosis alyhough i have had a scan and do have a gallstone.

Pain and sensations depend:

If a stone is passing, this is known as biliary cholic. The pain is usually on the right side of the body from the lower abdomen, to the chest, and even the lower and mid-back. You will often feel nauseuous, and some people are sick too. The pain is like no other. I also used to get pain that felt like acid-indegestion as well as trapped wind. Difficult to narrow it down as the exact symptons are hard to definte because the whole experience can be very painful indeed.

If a stone is stuck and causing a blockage, this is obstructive jaundice, where the bile no longer flows due to obstruction. You will have all the above symptoms, but will also develop jaundice, pass grey stools, dark urine, and generally feel very ill.
