Wondering if anyone can give me some advice on this issue. It started about 3 weeks ago i bit my nails down, which i don't usually do, and a few days later my index fingertip was a bit swollen and pinky/red so i made a doctors appointment as it looked on the way to being infected. I am type 1 diabetic. They give me some fucidin cream and i used this for about 4/5 days, no change. I am allergic to Penicillin and Erythromycin so she issued Doxycycline, I took this and still no change. The skin was still reddy and swollen and my middle/third finger also become a bit swollen and had a similar looking blister/blisters almost on them like it had spread onto another finger or two, they were not painful just slightly tender when touched. They were/are not hot or pussy. The doctor then thought it may be fungal so issued some antifungal cream which done nothing. For the last week i have been using Trimovate which has made the colour much less red and the swelling has gone down quite a bit but is still there slightly. The skin almost looks a bit pruney now (like i have had them in water for too long) the doctor thinks this is some sort of Eczema but not presenting in the usual way. i think it seems more of a reaction to something though. possibly a plant in my house?
Anyone have any suggestions? I have terrible health anxiety and of course this still being there 3 weeks later is really making me worried that something is wrong :/ i haven't had skin issues/dermatitus etc before. Any advice much appreciated! I have stopped using Trimovate and going to see how they do on their own without anything on them for a bit.
