Hi all,
I was talking to the healthcare nurse the other day and looking for your advice on what to do.
i have just experienced another outbreak, although ive only had 2/3 in my first year.
I was told you can take a suppressive Acyclovir twice daily for a year and will reduce outbreaks.
However i want to know what happens after the year of taking the suppressive. Have your outbreaks disappeared? I dont want to take a tablet twice a day for years to come and dont want my body to become reliant on this suppressive drug.
From doing some research online it seems as soon as you come off the tablets you go back to your usual way of getting outbreaks?
Any personal advice on personal experience would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
