Hi there,
I'm a 24 year old female and have been suffering from an inflamed bowel for some time now, I had cdiff twice and they're not sure if my bowel is inflamed bc of this or if it's chrons (I'm undergoing tests at the moment).
However about 4 days ago now I started getting a new sort of pain, it's goes from the right side of my abdomen round to the back (sort of between the bottom of my back and my rib cage) at first it was just annoying, it was a stabbing pain but not terribly sore, as the days are going by its getting worse, and for some reason it's worse at night. It makes me feel sick and aggrivates any tummy pains I get.
I don't have a fever, nor do I feel unwell. But the pain is just getting so terrible nothing is helping (I've taken pain relief, hot water bottles, baths etc).
My Dr phoned on Friday evening with test results, she said that my pH levels in my urine were 5.6 and that makes my urine more acidic, she said she was waiting something else coming back and that she'd phone later on that day if she could, but I'd imagine she never got what she was looking for. So I'll have to wait till Monday now to speak to someone.
Does anyone know what this may mean? Is 5.6 bad? Does it explain the symptoms I'm having right now? I don't really care what it is I just want to know if anyone has had something similar and can recommend something to ease the symptoms until I can see someone on Monday.
Hope you can help, thanks
Hi Emma,
just did a bit of research on this and because your Ph level is on the
low side this is in part why your are getting the pains. Of course your
other conditions wont help either.
But if pains get too bad you have to ring emergency and get properly
checked out. Sounds like your GP is on the case though.
Best if luck and let us know how you get on
Thanks for your comment. Yeah I thought maybe it had something to do with the pH levels.. I'll keep an eye on it over the weekend and if it gets any worse I'll be sure to go to the hospital.
I'll keep you posted :-)
Could be your gull blater but you never know, the stomach and digestive system is tricky trust me I know I have been dealing with this for 7 long years. But if you keep pushing the doctor and don't let up you could be in luck for some relief, and don't let one doctor tell you they don't know go to another doctor and another doctor and another doctor till you get results. You also might need someone who specializing in it
Yeah I know digestive issues really make things pretty complicated, I suppose it could be due to my current problems with inflammation but I just wondered if it was perhaps something different due to it being new to what I normally get.
It's never ending!
I will be sure to keep at the Dr's, I've not long been referred to a GI specialist, but I've not yet met him as he's wanting me to go for a bunch of investigations before I see to him. Luckily I have a great Dr who's always making sure I get seen asap, so hopefully it's nothing and things calm down a bit.
UPDATE:
Since I've posted this I've now got a fever of 38°c and I'm starting to feel pretty poorly.
I'm wondering if I just have a bug or something or if it's something to do with the new symptoms I'm having..
Ugh I wish it would just end, I've not long got over a long term infection and the thought of getting sick again is driving me mad!! 😕
sounds like things have taken a turn for the worse, I would phne
out of hours drs and get some advice. I am more concerned for
you now and you should seek medical advice for sure.
keep us updated please Emma
