I've been on citalopram 10mg just under 3wks and now been on 20mg 6 days now, i went to see my doc today n as I'm still feeling really anxious she wanted to increase my dose to 30mg is that not to soon??? As I thought it took wks to get into ur system and my dose was only increased to 20 6days ago, should I increase or give it more time?
I think i would give it more time.
If it were me I'd be giving it at least a fortnight on the 20mg , at least long enough for the side effects of the increase to wear off. I was prescribed 20mg with my Dr telling me to start on 10mg for a week. I can tell you I didn't really experience side effects till the 6th day so I stayed on them for around 2 weeks before going to 20.

I was put on 20mg on citalpram straight away from nothing, after a month, even though I was feeling a lot better in myself, the doctor still upped them to 40mg because of certain things and they've really been helping. Maybe doctor thought it was appropriate to up them, I would recommend to take the dosage the doctor recommended to you. :D hope this helps in some way!
